Privacy policy

At LeonType, a service of TellezTech, we care about our users' data, especially children's. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it and what choices you have.

1. Using LeonType without an account

You can practice the courses and the typing test without signing up. In that case, your progress, results, pet and keyboard layout are stored only in your own browser (local storage) and are not sent to our servers. You can delete them at any time from your browser settings.

2. Teacher accounts

If you sign up as a teacher we store your name, your email address, your school name (if you provide it) and the classes you create. If you sign in with Google, we receive only your name and email from Google. We use this data only to give you access and show you your classes.

Personal accounts

Anyone can create a free account with their email or with Google to save their progress. We store their name, email, lesson progress, typing test results and pet. People under 13 must use an account created by an adult or their class account.

3. Student accounts

Student accounts do not need an email address. We store the name given by the teacher or the student, a username, a simple password (visible to their teacher so they can print login cards) and their class. When a student practices with their account, we store their lesson progress so their teacher can see it.

Only the class teacher and the student can see this data. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising and we do not share it with other companies, except with the technical providers listed below.

4. Children

LeonType is designed for children too. That is why we do not ask students for contact details, ads are always shown in non-personalized format and school accounts are managed by a teacher. The teacher or school is responsible for obtaining parental consent where the law of their country requires it. If you are a parent or guardian and want to review or delete your child's data, write to us at contacto.

5. Advertising and cookies

LeonType shows Google AdSense ads to fund the service. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads and measure their performance.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this and other websites. On LeonType we request non-personalized ads, which are not based on your browsing history, although Google may still use cookies for frequency capping, fraud prevention and measurement.

You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings and learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services. In countries where the law requires it, you will be asked for consent before advertising cookies are used.

6. Providers that help us

To run the service we use: Supabase (database and accounts, servers in Brazil), Google (Google sign-in and ads) and Cloudflare (website hosting). Each one processes data under its own privacy policy and only to provide its service to us.

7. Retention and deletion

We keep data while the account is active. When a teacher removes a student or deletes a class, those students' accounts and progress are deleted too. To delete a teacher account, write to us.

8. Security

Connections are encrypted (HTTPS) and the database enforces rules so that each teacher can only see their own classes and students.

9. Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data, or the data of a student in your care, by writing to contacto.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date shown above and, if the change is important, announce it on the site.
